My Story,
I like to think that the idea for Amber Glow Cakery was created around the birth of my daughter. I simply became a more conscious parent. As I read through ingredient labels and the like, I realized all the “additives” that make it into our foods. And so it began- ever so vaguely. I made her baby food and little snacks. Then the birthdays started rolling around and I couldn’t fathom making a cake from the box. And with that- the first ever carrot cupcake was born from my oven.
Ever since then, I’ve been expanding my knowledge base to learn more. I’m not a pastry chef; I learned all I know through trial and error. I’m still a work in progress, but have managed to put together a few sweet confections that I’m rather proud to share with all of you. I hope you enjoy them as much as my family and friends. It is a true delight to create desserts that make people smile, literally, from the inside out! I’d like to see Amber Glow Cakery grow and one day open a storefront that will serve my community; a place where children and families can gather to eat and smile- one patron at a time!
In 2016, I was released from my full time job and decided that this was an adventure worth having. It's time to Stop Wasting Thyme! This is a plug for my blog, Stop Wasting Thyme, which will chronicle my adventures ahead. It’s about moving on, taking a chance, and all the food I’m planning to eat along the way! I’m open to the pursuit of a life well lived, doing something I love, for people that matter! Hope you will join me…
